Troy Willey

Community Pastor

Troy and Ginny have been married for more than 28 years. Their oldest daughter, Sarah, is married to Ben and they have two children, Claire and Malachi. Their oldest son, Jacob, lives in Aurora, Illinois and is a plumber’s apprentice. Evan is their youngest. He is a crew chief B52 mechanic in the Air Force and is currently stationed in Minot, North Dakota.

Troy was born in Denver and graduated High School in Keenesburg, Colorado. Ginny was born and raised in Addison, Illinois. (Don’t worry, she’s an avid Broncos and Rockies fan.) Troy and Ginny met in 1988 at Moody Bible Institute and have had quite an adventure since. When they married in 1990, Troy was completing his training in aircraft maintenance. They ended up on a farm where Troy farmed full time. Having been discipled at Fourway Baptist Church in Ft. Lupton at the time, they took a step of faith and returned to Moody where Troy completed a degree in Pastoral Studies while managing an Ace Hardware store. Since then they have served as pastor and wife in a cowboy church, have church-planted together, and were lead pastor and wife in a multi-staffed church.

Troy greatly enjoys being around people and building community. Some of Troy and Ginny’s greatest joys throughout years of ministry center on what they’ve seen God do in people’s lives through ministry like NMC’s Community Groups. They’ve seen children, youth, adults, and seniors trust Christ as Savior and get baptized as the result of smaller group experiences. They’ve shared the joy of meaningful fellowship, leading to hospital visits made, meals provided, lawns mowed, and cars fixed as a result of community. Additionally, they’ve seen groups impact their communities and even go on overseas mission adventures.

On a personal note, Troy and Ginny enjoy physical exercise, eating at different kinds of restaurants, and traveling when they have opportunity. If you can’t find Troy in the office, he may be wetting a fly-line on a mountain stream while Ginny reads a book in the shade.
